REX Industries B.V. builds battery systems for other manufacturers. That is a business-to-business relationship, and the personal data we handle is limited to what people at those companies send us: a name, a work address and a description of a product. This statement sets out what we do with it, on what legal basis, how long we keep it and what you can ask of us.
01 Who is responsible for your data
REX Industries B.V. is the controller for the personal data described here.
REX Industries B.V., Kenaustraat 5 A, 2011 MV Haarlem, the Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce (KvK) 90402405. E-mail info@rexbattery.com.
REX is not obliged to appoint a data protection officer. Questions about this statement, and requests about your own data, go to info@rexbattery.com.
02 What we collect
We collect what you send us yourself, plus the technical records our server keeps in order to serve the site.
- Contact form: your name, your company, your work e-mail address, your phone number if you fill it in, the application and the type of request you select, whether you would like an NDA first, your message and the language you used.
- Correspondence: the e-mail and phone contact that follows, together with any specifications, drawings or documents you send us.
- Customer records: for customers, the contact and administrative details we need in order to quote, deliver, invoice and support.
- Server logs: our hosting keeps standard access logs — IP address, time, requested page, response code, browser type and referring page — for security and troubleshooting.
We collect no special categories of personal data, we build no profiles, and no decision about you is taken by automated means.
03 Why we use it, and on what legal basis
- To answer your enquiry, specify a system and issue a quote — necessary for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in responding to business contacts (Article 6(1)(f)).
- To perform and support an agreement: delivery, integration support, service and warranty (Article 6(1)(b)).
- To keep the records the law obliges us to keep, such as invoices (Article 6(1)(c)).
- To keep this website available, secure and free of abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your data for advertising, and we send no newsletter unless you ask us for one.
04 Cookies
This website sets no cookies. It uses no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels, no A/B testing and no social media plug-ins, and it stores nothing in your browser.
Fonts, images, styles and scripts are served from our own server, so opening a page makes no request to any third party. Nothing here follows you to other websites.
That is why you will not find a cookie banner on this site: there is nothing to consent to. If we ever add something that does require consent, we will ask for it first and update this statement.
05 Who else can see your data
Your enquiry arrives as e-mail and is read by the people at REX who handle sales and engineering. Beyond that, a small number of suppliers process data on our behalf, on our instructions and under a processing agreement:
- our hosting provider in the Netherlands, which runs the website and forwards the form as e-mail;
- our e-mail and office provider, where correspondence and documents are stored;
- our accountant, and the tax authorities where the law requires it.
We sell no personal data and we share none of it for anyone to market to you. A current list of the processors we use is available on request.
06 Where your data is processed
Our website and our mail run on servers in the European Union. Where a supplier processes data outside the European Economic Area, that transfer rests on an adequacy decision of the European Commission or on the European Commission standard contractual clauses.
07 How long we keep it
- Enquiries that lead to no agreement: 24 months after our last contact.
- Customer and project records: for the term of the agreement and 7 years after it, so that we can support and warrant what we delivered.
- Invoices and financial records: seven years, the retention period in Dutch tax law.
- Server logs: 30 days.
After that we delete the data or make it anonymous.
08 Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- correct it where it is wrong;
- delete it;
- limit what we do with it;
- hand it to you in a portable format;
- stop processing that rests on our legitimate interest, by objecting to it.
Send your request to info@rexbattery.com. We answer within one month. If it is not clear to us who is asking, we may ask for something that confirms your identity. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
09 How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to the mailbox and to customer records is limited to the people who need it, and every supplier that processes data for us is bound by a processing agreement. Should a data breach occur that is likely to present a risk, we report it to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens within 72 hours and inform you where the law requires it.
10 Changes to this statement
We update this statement when the site changes or the way we work changes. The date above tells you which version you are reading; substantial changes are announced on this page.
